Kick-Off Meeting - 2007
UT Tyler ASCE chapter held a brief informal meeting Wednesday, August 29, 2007. The participants included seniors and faculty advisor, Dr. McGinnis. The purpose of the meeting was to lay out a plan for this year’s activities, including formal meetings. Firstly, the attendants decided that formal meetings should be held once a month with other possible meetings two weeks between. These in-between meetings may be necessary when we are constructing our concrete canoe. We also decided that pizza can be furnished at these meetings with a cost of one dollar per attendee. Other activities proposed included: a trip to Six Flags, intramural sports, and recycling bins ( to promote a positive, community service driven image and for fund raising.)
Marshall Jones took the task of designing meeting flyers upon himself. Brian Mahoney has the responsibility of distributing them. Rajeeve Karki is charged with registering the student club with the university in order to secure funding, and he also is tasked with entering our organization into the Homecoming Chili Cook-off.
